In Bellevue, we usually irrigate from May to September. During the irrigation season, my duties are setting the watering schedule, maintaining the pump station, hand watering greens and managing the summer workers that help with watering.

During the last two summers, we increased the amount of people that have been dedicated to hand watering and that has allowed us to water less at night and create a better playing surface. The combination of limiting cart traffic, root pruning, aerating problem areas and increasing hand watering has really helped us maintain a more consistent playing surface. I have really enjoyed seeing the course look great on hot afternoons.
